Visit the Danish National Archives. We have a total of four reading rooms located in different parts of the country that are open to the public.

  • Opening hours and addresses

    Find opening hours and adresses for the National Archives reading rooms

  • Reading room in Copenhagen

    You can find records from central state and local authorities, private persons and more.

  • Reading room in Odense

    You can find records from authorities and individuals from Funen and the surrounding islands.

  • Reading room in Viborg

    You can find records from the local authorities in Northern Jutland and private records from the whole of Denmark.

  • Reading room in Aabenraa

    You can find records from the old Duchy of Schleswig, the German minority and Southern Jutland.

  • Rules in the reading room

    There are a number of rules visitors to the reading rooms must observe.

  • What you may take into the reading room

    See what you may bring into the reading room. The rules are designed to secure collections for posterity.

    You can make copies of records at the reading rooms.
