The Danish National Election Study 1971-2011

The Danish National Election Study has been conducted as nationwide representative surveys in connection with every parliamentary election since 1971. The main purpose of these election surveys is to uncover the reasons why voters vote as they do.

The Election Study 1971-2011 represents a unique series on party preferences and political attitudes in Denmark over half a century.

The Election Study allow for analysis and comparison of the public opinion over time, eg:

  • Who are we voting for and why?
  • Which political issues do we find important?
  • Do we trust the politicians?
