Summer in the Danish National Archives
All our reading rooms are open again following the COVID-19 shut down. During summer however, the opening hours are reduced and to avoid the spread of coronavirus, temporary rules apply.
Opening hours in in the reading rooms
The reading room in Viborg is open as usual. Our reading rooms in Odense and Aabenraa are closed in July, and in Copenhagen, the reading room closes an hour earlier than usual. See all our addresses here.
The opening hours during the summer period are:
- July and August: every Tuesday-Thursday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
- July: closed.
- August: open Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 am to 3 pm.
- July: closed.
- August: open Tuesday and Wednesday, from 10 am to 3 pm.
- July and August: Tuesday-Thursday, from 9 am to 4 pm.
COVID-19 precautions in the reading rooms
To protect both users and employees certain temporary rules apply in the reading rooms, in the aftermath of the corona outbreak. Please read about our temporary guidelines (in Danish). Note that the rules and our services may chance in accordance with official guidelines from the Danish health authorities. So please keep a close eye on the official recommendations at coronasmitte.dk
Inter-library loans are closed in July
Due to summer holidays no archives or films will be sent across the country between our reading rooms during the month of July. The deadline for ordering long-distance loans before the summer break is Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 12 noon.
