Spring 2021 in the Danish National Archives’ reading rooms
The Research Reading Room in the Black Diamond in Copenhagen has re-opened. Please read the following important information, if you want to visit the reading room in Copenhagen.
Our reading rooms in Odense, Viborg and Aabenraa are closed until further notice. As soon as they open again, we will announce it here.
The opening hours
The opening hours at the “Research Reading Room” (“Forskerlæsesalen”) in the Black Diamond, Copenhagen follows the summer opening hours: From Tuesday to Thursday at 9 am to 5 pm.
Wait for the e-mail regarding you orders before you visit the reading room
We have received many orders during the lockdown and unfortunately we are unable to have them ready on the opening date 21 April. In order not to visit the reading room in vain, please wait to visit the reading room until you have received an email confirming that the documents are ready – also even though your order has been passed long time ago. We hope for your understanding and patience.
Please help us: Complete or cancel your order if you do not need it any longer
If you former orders are no longer relevant, please help us by cancelling them. In this way we are able to clear the shelves and make room for your and other users’ important orders.
COVID-19 passport and guidance in the reading rooms
When you visit the reading rooms you have to show a COVID-19 passport (i.e. documentation of a vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test no older than 72 hours, or that you have had the COVID-19 disease). For the safety of other users and the staff we reject all visitors who do not have a COVID-19 passport. Read more of valid documentation/COVID-19 passport on en.coronasmitte.dk.
We ask you also to follow the guidance of the Danish Health Authority in the National Archives’ reading rooms:
- Stay home if you are ill of have symptoms
- Wash or disinfect your hands often
- Use face mask or shield
- Keep a distance of 2 meters to other people
- Always follow the guidance of the staff of the reading room
