Opening hours for the National Archives’ reading rooms during the summer 2021
The reading rooms in Odense and Aabenraa are closed in July as well as inter-library loan of records are not possible in July. For further information of the National Archives’ reading rooms read more here.
Almost normal procedures after the COVID-19
After a long period with changing restristrictions in the reading rooms the visits to the reading rooms are almost back to normal. It is no longer necessary to show a Covid-19 passport or to wear a mask/shield when you visit the reading rooms. However, we hope you still pay attention and keep your distance, and we expect that you postpone your visit if you experience symptoms. You cannot book a seat in advance but for your information we have not had seating problems in the reading rooms until now. Please read the guidance for visiting the reading rooms here (in Danish).
Closing in Aabenraa and Odense in July
The reading rooms in Aabenraa and Odense are closed from 1 to 31 July.
The reading rooms in Viborg and in Copenhagen follow the usual opening hours. However, please note that the reading room in Copenhagen has special opening hours in July and August: Tuesday to Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm. See opening hours at the reading rooms. Also please note that guidance hours are reduced during the summer period.
Inter-library loans of records between the reading rooms are not possible in July
Inter-library loans of records will not be sent between the reading rooms in July. The first transport of inter-library loans of records after the summer period is on Monday 2 August.
