New Director General at the Danish National Archives
The Danish Minister of Culture Mette Bock has appointed Anne-Sofie Jensen to be the new Director General at the Danish National Archives. Anne-Sofie Jensen will be starting on January 1, 2019 where she will be in charge of 220 employees.
The current Director General, Asbjørn Hellum, has chosen to resign after 9 years at the Archives.
Anne-Sofie Jensen comes from a position as Deputy Director of the Agency for Data Supply and Efficiency. She has experience and insight into the renewal and modernization of public task solutions through digitization as well as implementing major, public IT projects. She will be able to use these skills in relation to the strategic goals concerning the Digital Transformation of the Danish National Archives.
Anne-Sofie Jensen says:
“The Danish National Archives ensures the preservation of documentation of the Danish society through almost 1000 years. It is an exciting and important task and I see a great potential in bringing the knowledge and documentation of Danish society even more into use. This will benefit citizens and researchers as well as other public institutions. We must seek to understand how we can exploit the new opportunities that the technological development and digitalization of society give us. So I am really looking forward to working on this along with the employees at the Danish National Archives. ”
