Download and read about the latest datasets from the Link-Lives research project, which builds life-courses of the Danish population since 1787.

The aim of the Link-Lives project is to extend the range of register-research, based on Danish data, from decades to centuries. It combines historical research methods with data science techniques to reconstruct life-courses and family relations of those who lived in Denmark from 1787 until the introduction of the modern Danish Civil Registration System in 1968. Guide to the Link-Lives datasets

The downloadable data features those living in Denmark from 1787 until the early twentieth century. Read what each data package contains, how to use them, who created them and how they were built in the Link-Lives Guide, v.1. This guide is also included in all the data packages (zip-files below). More information about the project can be found on our project site link-lives.dk/ and a searchable version of the full dataset can be found at link-lives.dk/soeg (in Danish only).

Ongoing work and licensing

All data packages currently available in the Link-Lives project, along with the Guide v1, are a work in progress. Updated data will be added on a regular basis. All data packages are subject to licensing restrictions and by downloading you agree to abide by the terms of these. See the licence files in each data package for details.
